ON4JM - OS0X
OD5/ON4JM
First of all I would like to thank Mr. Khoury Philippe, of the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Amateur Radio Association of Lebanon. as well as Francis, OD5PL, and Hani, OD5TE, for their help in getting me an OD5 license. Francis and Hani, I cannot thank you enough for your fantastic ham spirit. I will never forget.
As a member of the Belgian Army I was located in the southern part of Lebanon near the city of Tibnin. Our mission there was named BELUFIL 3 (BElgian LUxembourg Forces In Lebanon 3) and we were there to assist United Nations Forces personnel who are looking for and destroying land mines and unexploded bombs and assist the local population with medical needs. I worked in the Field Hospital as a Radiologist Assistant. We had about 400 personnel in our group. I was in Lebanon from 5 June until mid August 2007.
I put only 1215 stations in my log : 60% cw and 40 % ssb. No time enough to be more qrv.
QSL information:
Please QSL via the ON QSL Bureau. If you would like a direct QSL please send it to my ON4JM address in Aye, Belgium. Do not forget to include a SASE or IRC with SAE. If no IRC or SASE QSL will be sent via the bureau.
Best Wishes
OD5/ON4JM
PS: the BELUFIL mission goes on to Oct 2008
